BMW LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP

October 17, 2024

Jenny Shin

Busan, South Korea

LPGA International Busan

Quick Quotes

Q. Here after your first round here at the BMW Ladies Championship. 8-under bogey-free. What was working so well for you?

JENNY SHIN: Collectively shots, short game, putting inside ten feet was working well. I think I stayed patient, and it paid off.

Q. What is it about this course that maybe brings out some of your strengths, and what are you still trying to navigate out there?

JENNY SHIN: I don't know. I usually struggle on Korean golf courses but I think I -- I don't know. I think I let go of that expectation of being a Korean and needing to show a certain result. I think I've always had a very high expectation of that.

But yeah, I think I just stayed patient and let myself shine without trying so hard.

Q. Despite that, though, too, to be back here in Korea, have the Korean fans here cheering you on? What does that mean to you, and does it maybe give you a little bit of boost of confidence?

JENNY SHIN: Yeah, I mean, teeing off last on 10 tee didn't give me the biggest crowd but I did have my regulars come out and support me. So that really means a ton.

Q. And what's going to be the mindset heading into the rest of the week?

JENNY SHIN: Same as today. You know, just play golf. There's so much golf left. So I'm just going to stay patient and keep grinding.
