Quick Quotes
Q. All right here with Auston Kim after her second round to the Buick LPGA Shanghai. Obviously we got to talk about the ace you had, second of your career.
AUSTON KIM: It was 148 pin and I was looking for a 140 shot; pulled a 9; hit a pretty good shot. I mean, it stayed pretty straight on the hole the entire time. Got a good bounce, bounced forward, and went in.
I had no idea. My caddie told me it went in. He was looking through his RangeFinder and he was like, oh, it went in. It was a really good surprise.
Q. After that, kind of turned your whole round around; 4-under on the day. Just take us through the round as well.
AUSTON KIM: Yeah, it was a little up and down in the first nine for me. Made a couple mistakes starting, made a couple birdies, and then made a couple mistakes again.
Putting wasn't that great, but after I the made the hole-in-one I celebrated and the belief went through the roof after that. I just told myself I can make anything I put my mind to and really focused on my process and what my job was.
I managed to hit really good shots coming in, and I just stuck to my process until there were no more holes left.
Q. You're in the home stretch of your rookie season here on tour. What have you learned about yourself since the first tournament all the way until now?
AUSTON KIM: Yeah, there have been a lot of lessons, a lot of good weeks and some tough ones, too. Just trying to take the lessons from the tough ones and learn as much as I can about myself and refining my process every single week.
It's all about gaining experience, and I am definitely having a really good time out here.
Q. What's going to be the goal for the rest of the year?
AUSTON KIM: Rest of the year? I mean, just staying present, sticking to my process. Just trying to hit as many good shots as I possibly can and have fun with it.
