ALFRED DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

October 6, 2024

Tyrrell Hatton

St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland

Quick Quotes

Q. Winning here at St Andrews is special for any player, winning it twice is the stuff of dreams. You're the first guy to win it three times. Just describe how that feels, particularly with your father alongside you?

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, it feels good. This is the first time I've actually won the tournament with my dad here. So it means a lot. And yeah, to do it on the Home of Golf is really special. Hard to describe to be honest. I'm at a loss for words.

Q. You were three ahead with six holes to play, Nicolas birdies 15 and you're back to tied again. What's going through your mind?

TYRRELL HATTON: To be honest, I didn't know what the scores were. First leaderboard I saw was on 17 green. And yeah, on to have a 3 1/2-foot putt is quite nerve-wracking.

Q. This victory takes you to 20th in the World Rankings and qualifies you for Abu Dhabi and Dubai and a chance to win more Ryder Cup points. How excited are you at that prospect?

TYRRELL HATTON: I'm so happy that I've got my place booked in Dubai. When I teed off last week at the Spanish Open, I knew that I needed probably at least a second on my own to have a chance.

Actually, I was meant to be going to Fitzy's wedding the week in Spain, and I messaged him a few weeks ago and I was like, if I don't have enough points, I might not be able to go and I felt so bad about that. I guess having a little extra motivation to play well.
