ALFRED DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

October 5, 2024

Tom Vaillant

St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland

Quick Quotes

Q. 8-under par here at Kingsbarns, another good day.

TOM VAILLANT: It was a nice day. Everything went on the right direction. Just a little mistake on 18 but it was a very nice round.

Q. Your first time playing the Alfred Dunhill links. What is it about your game that you think matches up well with these historic Scottish courses?

TOM VAILLANT: Yeah, I mean, I don't really know, just trying to do my best.

The conditions are quite easy. I think we can find it way harder than this. Only I'm trying to do the best shot I can at the right moment and we'll see what's going on.

Q. Tomorrow you'll be back at the Old Course, three shots off the lead at the moment. You shot an 8-under 64 at the Old Course on the opening day of this tournament. How will you go about replicating that, do you think?

TOM VAILLANT: Not trying to replicate anything. Just trying to do my best. The Old Course, we have a lot of opportunities, I think. Depends on the weather. We'll see. All about weather, so we'll see.

Q. What would it mean to win the title at the old scores at St Andrews?

TOM VAILLANT: Yeah, the Old Course is like the most historic golf course in the world. So obviously being able to play a tournament and being in contention there, it's amazing, so I'll see. I'm not thinking about winning. I'll just try to do my best. There's a long way to go, so we'll see.
