Quick Quotes
Q. 4-under par 68 after a 62, do you feel like you're getting to grips with the links golf you're facing here this week.
CAMERON JOHN: Yeah, absolutely. It's just fun. Like it's you don't get it a lot back home, the odd course that plays similar but nothing quite the same. And that's kind of just the outlook of the week, just enjoy it, take it all in, walking up 18, it's always pretty special, so just remember it.
Q. So you've grown up playing a lot of golf in the Sandbelt, how similar is it? What are the similarities across that golf there to what you have to do here?
CAMERON JOHN: I think wind-wise it gets -- we have been lucky the last couple days, it was a little trickier today for sure but definitely like the wind down at the National gets pretty crazy.
You have to use a lot of the undulating slopes. There's massive sort of run-offs, and you look at the 18th, for example, here, you hit it short and it comes back, and you feel like you're 10 metres under the flag. You get that at the National as well.
Q. We're getting to know you well, but we hear there's sporting prowess in cricket in your family, is that right?
CAMERON JOHN: My grandma played a bit of cricket for Australia. That was pretty cool. I heard it a million times growing up. Feels like nothing to me now but it's definitely the heritage of the sport.
Q. What is the challenge there for you?
CAMERON JOHN: I mean, I've only been out there the once and I think that was Tuesday. It was awesome and I mean, I played it into a Northerly, so those last few holes were quite tricky. It’s going to be kind of opposite. So it will be a little bit like learning it all over again.
