ALFRED DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

October 4, 2024

Tom Vaillant

St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland

Quick Quotes

Q. 3-under par, a couple of dropped shots on the back nine but you must be pretty pleased with how you tackled Carnoustie today.

TOM VAILLANT: Yeah, I mean, it's always a challenge playing this course. So obviously it's quite an occasion shooting under par even if conditions are not that hard. But it's fine; if I'm shooting under par every day during the week, it will be quite good.

Q. What was working so well for you out there today? Conditions have been kind, but you must have been playing some good golf?

TOM VAILLANT: Yeah, hit a couple good shots, and just the course management, never getting in trouble. The first two rounds, I haven't been in any bunker, so that's the main thing. So just avoid bunkers and avoid short-side, and that's the main challenge here.

Q. And the bunkers are less of a problem at Kingsbarns than they are here at Carnoustie. So you must be looking forward to tomorrow with the way that you're playing, confidence high?

TOM VAILLANT: Yeah, just try not to do in any mistakes, that's the main thing. Avoid all the troubles in the last two rounds, and we'll see what it's going to do at the end of the week.

Q. And you've been enjoying playing these links courses? Is links golf one of your favourite formats?

TOM VAILLANT: Yeah, the history we have here on those courses, it's awesome. Being able to play here, I'm quite proud of it.
