ALFRED DUNHILL LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

October 3, 2024

Tyrrell Hatton

St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland

Quick Quotes

Q. Bogey-free 65 to tie for the top score here at Carnoustie alongside Jon Rahm. Must be pleased with that?

TYRRELL HATTON: Yeah, it's a nice way to start the tournament. I think that we can all agree, we got very lucky with the weather. I mean, I know the courses are never easy when it's windy but this one probably has generally played tougher in the past to. Get Carnoustie on a day as calm as this, it was lovely, and nice to shoot a decent score.

Q. And you're up there with two family groups, the Fitzpatricks and the Hattons. How enjoyable is that to get the opportunity to play with your family?

TYRRELL HATTON: I think that's part of what makes this tournament so special. It's very different from what we experience week-in, week-out, and yeah, it's really nice. I think my dad enjoyed it a bit more today. I think this is their third time playing the event. He's nervous but he'll take some confidence from that. Hopefully we can do well in the team event.

Q. A two-time winner in this event. Must be feeling confident of a three-peat?

TYRRELL HATTON: There's a long way to go. Yeah, just hopefully keep shooting some decent scores and we'll see where we are at the end of play on Saturday, and fingers crossed, the weather stays good for us, and yeah, we'll try our best.
