Q. 64, you must be happy?

DAVID LAW yeah, really happy. Obviously the conditions are favorable. But yeah to go out there and shoot 8-under par any day is pleasing. Fantastic start to the week.

Q. You're an Aberdeenian. So Royal Aberdeen, did you play those? Do you like links golf and feel at home?

DAVID LAW I grew up at a course called Hazelhead which wasn't a links course, but now I'm a ember of Royal Aberdeen, as well, so I do play links golf a lot. It's golf that I'm comfortable playing. Normally it's a little windier, and I wouldn't say a bit colder; it's pretty colder than this. Normally windier than this, I'm comfortable playing links golf.

Q. What did you do out there today you're pleased about?

DAVID LAW I putted really well. Holed a few good putts, and my iron play was solid, which was great. Actually cracked my driver yesterday on the Old Course. So I have not taken this new one on the course yet but that behaved reasonably well, as well.

Q. You're living the golfer's dream, playing here, then you go to Carnoustie, and you go to St Andrews, every amateur golfer would love to do it. Do you still have a thrill about going to play those great golf courses?

DAVID LAW yeah, it's special. Especially like tomorrow, we're going to be playing the Old Course. It will be fantastic. We are very lucky to do what we do.

Yeah, when the weather plays ball, as well, it's a lot of fun.

Q. You had a great start, I don't want to mention that word, Q, but you've got to have a good week and start getting momentum if you don't want to go back there. How do you feel about that at the moment?

DAVID LAW I need to be really up front about it. I'm aware of the situation that I'm in. I know that I need a big week. It's not just that I need a few good weeks; I need a big week.

Luckily these events that we're playing now, they are big points. So this is a fantastic opportunity. Look, I'm trying my best. If it happens this week, it happens. If it doesn't, then I've got another three goes I think after.

Yeah, I know exactly the situation I'm in and I know the golf I need to play. You know, it's just pleasing about the score today.
