J. SINNER/Buyunchaokete
6-3, 7-6
THE MODERATOR: We will start with English questions.
Q. You faced Sinner just once in junior play before. He bested you there. What were your thoughts going into this match? How did you think you might be able to execute a little bit better?
BUYUNCHAOKETE: Well, I mean, I don't good remember when we play in junior. It's already maybe seven years ago.
But today I think is really good match, really good level. He give me lot pressure. Yeah, he make me to get more nervous, then with me have some mistake. Yeah, doing really, really well.
I don't see lot chance, especially in second set. Sometimes I have like 30-15 in his serve game. He started getting better level, serve well, plus-one, whatever. It's easy to come back for him like 40-30 or whatever. I don't see really so much chance.
But first set I have few break point. Second serve, big chance to break. But, yeah, match is going like this. But I think is really good match.
THE MODERATOR: Questions in Chinese.
Q. Do you have any words to the teenagers playing tennis in China?
BUYUNCHAOKETE: I wish them persistence. I wish them success in a professional path. I think being a professional player is very difficult. Not that many male players can do that. In the past few years, we are seeing more, be it for kids, teenagers. I think there is a brighter future in China. I hope they can persist.
Q. Despite the loss, you've played very well in the past weeks. You had opportunities in this match. We like to say that Asian male players mature at a later age, not like Sinner and Musetti. How do you look at this kind of view? You have broken through at a young age. You were on the tour at a young age.
BUYUNCHAOKETE: I am quite different from them. This is only my third year in the professional tour, unlike them. I could only talk from my perspective. I started quite late. I turned pro quite late.
Sinner, Musetti started at a young age, when they were teenagers. You look at Jerry Shang, he is under 20 with such great achievements. I think it really depends.
Q. You were playing at home on the National Day. Anything you would like to say on this special day?
BUYUNCHAOKETE: I wish all the fans in front of the TV, as well as on-site, to enjoy this match as well as the holiday. This is the first day of the holiday. You still have seven, even 10, days left. I hope we can see more fans in Shanghai because there are more male players competing there. I hope we can see more fans.
Q. Facing the world No. 1, you must have done a lot of preparation. What was the biggest difference compared to your preparation?
BUYUNCHAOKETE: Not much difference. It's just that I wasn't doing as well in terms of especially my serve. Probably the worst service games this week. I was trying to lower my speed in the second set to actually maintain a better level in my serve.
Probably because I was tired, I wasn't able to maintain a level of physicality compared to previous matches. These are factors taken into consideration.
I wasn't serving that well. He only broke me once. I was kind of giving him pressure on the baseline. Sometimes you don't serve well, but you perform well on the baseline.
