Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Jasmine Suwannapura. 8-under, leader in the clubhouse so far after this first wave. What was working so well for you out there?
JASMINE SUWANNAPURA: I think we just got a good weather. You know, very cloudy and I think the vibe and everything. I see my housing that I stay with seven years ago last night and then I have another housing this week.
So they been very supportive and been cheering. Plus I play with the pro-am yesterday, the Tito's guys. I have probably four, five drink with them. It's been pretty fun week so far.
Q. What's it like returning to this community and this tournament in general, definitely one of those that I feel a lot of our players circle on the calendars to return year after year?
JASMINE SUWANNAPURA: It's been amazing. I think this community been supporting us, LPGA, and all the pros and even the caddies who stay at the house and welcome as a as family, cheer us, walk around with us.
I think it's a big thing. It's very important for us. You feel like you come from anywhere in the country, but this is kind of feel like home.
Q. Going back to your round today, got off to a hot start; kind of never looked back. When did you feel everything clicking and what got things off to good momentum?
JASMINE SUWANNAPURA: I think it's starting from last week I think everything coming, getting better with my irons, have more confidence.
It's towards the end of the year and my goal is to be playing CME and get to see my parents in Thailand walking with me, Handa LPGA Tour. My dad just turned 72 and my mom just turned 64 actually yesterday.
So, yeah, I'm trying to making my way out there. Get to see them walking the course and follow me again.
Q. I feel like CME is always everyone's goal by the end of the season. You're looking ahead to next year knowing how many points you have and where you are on the race to CME matters even more. How do you kind of let that settle in your mind and not or overwhelm to have a day like you had today?
JASMINE SUWANNAPURA: I think at this point, you can only do your best right now, and knowing comfortably I get into three of the four Asian Swing. Yeah, there is no cut and you go out there and just fire at the pin and try to climb up the CME point.
That's all I'm trying to do.
Q. Before letting you go, take me through one or two of the most memorable birdies out there knowing it was a bogey-free day. What did that do for you and your confidence and your game as a whole?
JASMINE SUWANNAPURA: Me and my husband been having fun out there. Couple holes I ask him to take a look for me. We make two birdies from that, and he got super excited.
You know, yeah, we just have fun out there. Keep the momentum going, we literally play with the wind today. Got pretty gusty, too.
Q. What will you take away from this round heading into tomorrow knowing there is only three days to really move up that leaderboard, or for you to stay at the top of the leaderboard?
JASMINE SUWANNAPURA: I think it's everybody game tomorrow. I know a lot of girls out here is going to go low. I hope I can go low the next two days.
We'll see what happens.
