Quick Quotes
Q. Different game for you today it looked like.
SHELLY STOUFFER: Well, I missed a few putts and she was making some long putts. Someone has to be the loser today.
Q. On the front nine, a little trouble hitting greens or --
SHELLY STOUFFER: Yeah, I don't even remember. Let me think. I didn't hit my driver particularly well on a lot of holes.
Q. You hit more drivers today than yesterday it seemed like.
SHELLY STOUFFER: Did I? I hit a driver on 15, which I didn't the other time. But I think it's the same amount of drivers. Well, I hit a driver on 1, which I wasn't there before, either.
Q. You seemed to hit a couple iron shots that --
SHELLY STOUFFER: Well, I hit a shank.
Q. Apart from that --
SHELLY STOUFFER: That was pretty funny.
Q. You hit a real crisp iron on 9 and made the birdie.
SHELLY STOUFFER: No, that was nice. That was good. Then I hit the flag on 10 and then made that long one. That kind of got me going. Then I made a good up-and-down on the next hole, and then she makes birdie. I mean, I wasn't -- I hit it in the rough. 12 was a bad drive. But I hit a great shot there, and hit a good putt, and then she made her birdie. Then she made that long one on the next hole, which was helpful for her.
Q. What's it like, all week you were playing from the lead, stroke play, your match play you breezed through, tough match against Ellen, then suddenly you're playing from behind. What's that like?
SHELLY STOUFFER: Well, I try not to think about it. I just try -- well, on 15 I was trying to get on the green in two and I hit a terrible second shot. I pushed a little bit more but then I was trying to still swing within myself. I wasn't trying to -- I wanted to hit it in the fairway on this hole, and that didn't help.
Yeah, it was kind of the line I wanted, because this one is really hard to --
Q. Does the mindset change when you're down?
SHELLY STOUFFER: No, no. Well, I tried to stay the same. I'm not trying to change anything because if you do, it doesn't really help I don't think.
Q. I know it stings right now; do you think when you reflect back in a few days or on this year, how will you remember this week?
SHELLY STOUFFER: It's going to be great. It was a great week. It's awesome just to get in the finals. Honestly, playing Ellen Port, she was tough. Well, Kathy Hartwiger was tough, too. It was nice she was caddying for me. Yeah, it was just -- I'm very proud of myself. I'm not really disappointed. How do you be disappointed, really? I gave it my best effort, and it wasn't good enough today.
