Quick Quotes
Q. Considering those conditions out there with the wind, how happy are you to be in with a 2-under score?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, happy to have lunch and watch everybody else struggle. It was tough. It was tough, really. I think it took everyone by surprise when we were warming up just how strong the wind was. It was always going to be a battle.
But I felt like I played very well. I felt like I got off to a nice start, just making pars on those first few in those conditions, hitting good shots, was a nice way to get me into the round, and yeah, very happen oh.
Q. You struggled around the turn but to fight bag the way you did on the back nine, you must be pleased with that as well?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: The first was really annoying. I had not put a foot wrong barely the entire time, and then the first, hit two decent shots in the wind and just make a daft three-putt, which is really frustrating, and then a poor tee shot on 2, really. It's very difficult, and things like that are going happen.
So yeah, as frustrated as I was, I think the chip -- I hit a really good ship on the third because I missed the green just left and chipped to three feet, and I think that was a really important shot.
A bit frustrating but nice to finish that way.
Q. Early finish in one of the best cities in the world, what will you get up to today?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It's me, Clare and Frankie, so we'll just hang out. Like I said, the players' lounge is unbelievable this week, so probably stay in there for awhile and eat, train and not do much else, really. Just happy to chill in Madrid.
