Quick Quotes
SHELLY STOUFFER: Yay me.
Q. Yay you. You have a 36-hole day in the books. Talk about that last match with Ellen. Well, let's talk about you first and then maybe how much of a competitor she is.
SHELLY STOUFFER: Oh, yeah, for sure.
Q. You first.
SHELLY STOUFFER: Okay.
Q. What was working for you out there today?
SHELLY STOUFFER: I putted pretty well. I think I had one three-putt. I hit the ball pretty solid as well. I hit a lot of greens, I think.
Ellen was scrambling a lot, so I figured she'd get worn out a little bit, which kind of happened a little bit.
I did get up-and-down out of the bunker on 14 for par, which helped me out there. I got back to 2 up. Then she made birdie on 15, then I made birdie on 16. So it was back and forth.
I had like it seemed I was either even or -- I was 1 down at the beginning, I think. Then after that -- no, I was never 1 down, I don't think. I made a really good putt on 2 to save par, like a 24-footer, which was pretty clutch, and then I went to go 1 up on a par-3, I think, on No. 5.
I don't think I was ever really down in the match.
Q. It seemed like you had fairways, lots of greens. Like you were saying, she was scrambling. What does say about your game and your nerves when she's draining those putts?
SHELLY STOUFFER: I was expecting her to make all those putts, so I tried not to let it faze me. You can think I'm going 1 up here, but that will backfire on you real quick.
So just think she's going to make it, and if she misses, then bonus. That's what I was thinking. Yeah, she was great out there. She was solid. There's no give up in her.
Q. How cool was it to have Kathy jump on the bag?
SHELLY STOUFFER: It was awesome.
Q. Did that happen just during lunch?
SHELLY STOUFFER: No, it happened right before. I walked into the locker room, and Chris was like, she just walked in. You go ask her. It was pretty cool. Yeah, it was awesome.
Q. Did you have a good time out there?
SHELLY STOUFFER: Yeah, it was fun.
Q. Has she ever caddied for you before?
SHELLY STOUFFER: No, never. It was nice. It was nice because it was raining. There's always extra stuff to do in the rain, so it was awesome to have her on the bag for sure.
Q. You're from a place --
SHELLY STOUFFER: Vancouver Island.
Q. A place where it rains often. Do you think that helped you out here in these conditions, knowing how to handle it?
SHELLY STOUFFER: I'm sure it probably did. Ellen says she doesn't play much in the rain, but you have to play in the rain in tournaments. Like I do play in the rain often sometimes, and I just do it because I know that I'll have to do it in tournaments because I really don't like it that much, but anyway.
And my rain gear annoyed me, so I didn't even wear it today.
Q. It usually does.
SHELLY STOUFFER: Yeah.
