NASCAR CUP SERIES: BASS PRO SHOPS NIGHT RACE

September 21, 2024

William Byron

Bristol, Tennessee

Pit Lane Interview

Q. Was there ever a time tonight where you thought you might be in trouble?

WILLIAM BYRON: Yeah, just the way we were kind of falling back. We started the race up front, which was great. Had a good Saturday. Then really from lap four or five, just couldn't get the front end to work and just super tight. We threw a lot at it through the race, trying to make it better, and just was kind of stuck where we were. We kind of kept bleeding out. We'll forget about this one for sure and go into Kansas, and I know we'll be good there. Just try to get some momentum at Kansas and go on through that round.

But really all tonight was about was advancing, and we did that. So proud of that for sure.

Q. Assess the 24 team for me right now. You say you want momentum. How do you get that and how do you make it happen in Kansas?

WILLIAM BYRON: I think just bringing fast cars. We had that on Saturday, and I don't know why it was different today, but it was. Yeah, just need to bring a fast car to Kansas and I know we'll be good at the Roval, and I know Talladega can go either way. We'll just have to go there and be strong.
