Quick Quotes
Q. Well done, a second round of 69. How was it out there for you today?
BILLY HORSCHEL: It was a grind again. I'm not swinging it very good, so I'm not really sure what shot is going to come out. You know, it's sort of a guess and hit-and-hope at times. I grinded it out. Battled. Made some putts. The putter has been working nice this week.
So I just need to go figure out a swing that's going to be a little bit more predictable the next TWO days.
Q. That said, it must feel special being here at Wentworth especially after your win a few years ago.
BILLY HORSCHEL: It does. I have great memories coming back here. I love it here. I've talked fondly of this place. So for some reason, it doesn't matter what kind of shape my game is in, I figure out some way to play well, and that's always a good thing.
Q. Talk us through the shot on 8.
BILLY HORSCHEL: I pull-hooked a 3-wood into the trees and then I hit it left-handed out. It was up against the root, and I didn't think I could get that much club on it and it came up just short of the water, and then I hit a wedge shot that almost was a 3. It was a tap-in par.
As I told the boys in the group, I yelled, "Fore," and I said, I told you guys it was a "4" after I hit my tee shot. Yeah, it was a nice gift there to make a four there when it could have been a lot worse.
Q. You've produced some big results on some big stages. What do you put that down to?
BILLY HORSCHEL: I love playing in front of crowds, and I love playing tournaments that are historic and have a legacy to them. It's something I always try to ramp up for or got more excited for. I may not have always produced the results that I wanted, but it's just something special when you play a tournament like this and know the history of it and the names that have won this event, you just want to be a part of that.
