KROGER QUEEN CITY CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY P&G

September 19, 2024

Leona Maguire

Maineville, Ohio, USA

TPC River's Bend

TV

Q. Leona with great round today. That birdie-eagle combination on the front; continue that momentum on the back. What was the key to the solid round today?

LEONA MAGUIRE: Yeah, I mean, I think finished off obviously with a nice round on Sunday last week. It's been a tough couple of months the last few months. Haven't enjoyed my golf as much as I should have. Last week was a reminder of how fun golf can be. I love the Solheim and it's nice to have something to look forward to every two years.

Just to build off the momentum from last week.

Q. Your captain questioned some of your form last week in Solheim Cup. We didn't see you perhaps as much as we had expected. Was that a response today, the low round? Sending some sort of message to what we saw last week?

LEONA MAGUIRE: No, I mean, me and Suzann are on very good terms. I have a lot of respect for her. She was a hero of mine growing up. Ultimately it was her decision last week. She did what was best for the team.

I would've been happy to sit out every match if it meant we brought back the trophy. I knew my game was in good shape. Showed that in the singles last week, and just trying to finish off the season as strong as I can.
