Quick Quotes
Q. Lilia, just talk about this finish and what it meant.
LILIA VU: Yeah, it meant the world because I really felt today that when I was kind of letting myself get down that I wasn't doing anything for this team and didn't see light at the end of the tunnel.
And then I got to 2-down, and then 16 I got away with an up-and-down save, and then was able to birdie 17 and 18. I don't know how. It just happened. I know I looked in the fairway to the leaderboard, saw that we were at 14, so wanted to get that half point for us.
Yeah, hit it to like a foot and a half, so got the job done.
Q. Especially after being on the team last year, what does this victory mean for you?
LILIA VU: Oh, this week has been such a blast. I think team chemistry and with all the captains and assistant captains, you love them so much that you want to play well for them. And not only that, the fans have been amazing. You're just amped up and you want to do well for your country. It's always an honor to represent the United States.
Q. What does it mean to you, as well, to get that last half point?
LILIA VU: I mean, this has been everything. I have a picture of the U.S. Team winning the Solheim Cup a while back, so it's on my wall in my room. So this is a dream of mine, and so happy that I was able to do that for them.
Q. What were you telling yourself on 18-over that putt, all your teammates over here?
LILIA VU: On that putt, I've hit this putt a million times. I know how to do it. Just go get the job done. I knew setting up, though, it was going to go in.
Q. When members of the team were asked who would you want to hit the big putt or the big shot, I think you were the only one that said you.
LILIA VU: I wish it was someone else. But it's so fun. It's a lot of pressure, but that's what you work hard for all your life. This is the moment. That was my moment.
Q. We've seen on social media the way you guys are -- after each day you go to the hotel and celebrate. How do you celebrate the win tonight?
LILIA VU: Oh, nothing is off the table. We are going to go so wild. I think there's going to be caddie shirts off in the team room, probably more, people on tables. It's been a long time coming, so we're going to celebrate real hard.
Q. Is that the most nerve-racking two-footer you've ever had in your life?
LILIA VU: Yes, I think so. I think so. I've won for myself when it's just me, but you're playing for your teammates, your country, the fans, everyone, just everybody that's American. It's a lot on your shoulders. I don't know how I did it.
