Quick Quotes
Q. Just the fact that you played so well this week to get third in the season-long points race, it must be pretty gratifying to end the season on a note, even though you didn't get the title today.
SERGIO GARCIA: Yeah, I mean, look, I fought hard, and I didn't feel as smooth as I've been feeling the last few weeks. I didn't feel bad, but I wasn't quite there most of the first day. Then I got better as the week went on.
But yeah, no, it was a good fight. Obviously I would have loved to get the W this week, and it would have been extra special. Still, Jon played great, and he also missed a couple of putts here and there that he usually doesn't miss.
At the end of the day, I probably needed to shoot 6- or 7-under, and it's not that easy on this golf course the way it was playing.
Q. Is it gratifying to finish the season on the podium there in third place and get that bonus?
SERGIO GARCIA: Yeah, more than anything -- yeah, it's great, but more than anything, just to finish as high as possible, it's great, against all these guys that are so good. You never know; hopefully in the near future there's some qualification criteria that that might affect, so to be able to finish as high as possible for the season, it's important. If that happens for the majors, then I'm glad that I was able to play that well.
Q. Did you take a look at all at how Hatton was doing? It was basically you and him --
SERGIO GARCIA: Yeah, obviously I saw that he was playing really well today again, and I saw that he was climbing up the leaderboard.
I felt calm, though. I felt like I was doing a lot of good things and giving myself a lot of chances.
Obviously I missed a couple of chances early on that that could have taken, but I was in good spirits. I made a couple nice par saves on 10 and 12 and kind of kept me going the right way. It came down to one point at the end of the day, at the end of the year. It shows you how close it is and how good everyone is.
Q. How do you describe Rahm's first season on LIV?
SERGIO GARCIA: Expected. I mean, he's that good. You knew that he was going to be there, and as soon as he felt a little bit comfortable, you knew that he was capable of doing things like that. It didn't surprise me. He's just that good of a player.
