Shane Lowry

Royal County Down GC

Quick Quotes

Q. 68, how do you feel you played?

SHANE LOWRY: I played good. I felt like, yeah, I felt like I played good. I drove the ball incredibly well all week, and I feel like my iron play let me down. Even today, I felt like I should have made more birdies from where I was hitting it off the tee.

But look, it is what it is. 68 is pretty good out there. Half-decent week. But yeah, cost myself a chance to win tournament yesterday afternoon, so yeah.

Q. There's always going to be, I suppose, "what if" moments and yesterday's round was that "what if" round.

SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, I got off to the start I wanted to yesterday but finished really badly. I was saying to the boys last night, if I had parred the last few holes last night, gone out level par, I would have thought, you shoot 6- or 7-under out there, and it's not easy for a leader to break par out there.

But yeah, look, I gave it my best. It wasn't good enough and we move on.

Q. In good shape heading into Wentworth?

SHANE LOWRY: My game feels good. Need to tidy up my iron play. But yeah, my game feels really good. I'm driving the ball really well, and happy with what my putter is doing. So you know, if everything clicks, you never know.
