Quick Quotes
Q. As rounds go, that must be right up there in your career so far.
TODD CLEMENTS: Yeah, I said that to my caddie walking off, "That's one of the best rounds I've played in my life so far." It's a hard course and yeah, delighted how it panned out.
Q. Tell us about the conditions. Seemed to test you in all sorts of ways.
TODD CLEMENTS: I played the Pro-Am and thought there's going to be some challenges for sure. I think just having a good attitude, everyone is going to have challenges; it's going to be difficult at points. This golf course is never going to give you an inch.
Yeah, it's been an interesting day.
Q. You spoke about the challenges, and there was two bogeys on your card today, but keeping those down to a minimum, how important is that this week?
TODD CLEMENTS: Yeah, I think our strategy is just to play par golf, especially on a course that challenging, and felt like I did that quite well today.
Obviously one of the bogeys was a bit of a shame, but I felt like I managed it well and just head down and keep going.
Q. Obviously the course suited your eye out there. What was the main part of your game that was in focus today?
TODD CLEMENTS: For me, I drove it great. I hit a lot of good quality shots, and just kind of hit my ball in the right spaces. My caddie was great today, and you know, he had the course mapped out great and it worked well.
Q. Obviously a great start, and you need another great performance tomorrow to keep going. What will be the mindset as you head out early in the morning?
TODD CLEMENTS: This course is as hard as it gets. Take it day-by-day; cliché. But tomorrow it's going to be cold; it's going to be windy and another grueling test. Sad as it is to say, I'm probably looking forward to it.
