Quick Quotes
Q. Give us the low down on that one.
EWEN FERGUSON: Just a really tough green, isn't it. So chipping my ball about -- holed a couple of nice par putts at the start. And then obviously had a double-bogey from kind of nowhere, really. One hole where I played well and just missed the green, chip it downwind, and the weather gets a little squally. And you get the wrong hole in that bit of weather it's tough and made double-bogey, and I thought, I haven't even hit a bad shot yet.
The back nine, my front, birdie on 8, which settled me for the 9th tee shot which is not an easy tee shot. Hit a good 2-putt on the last for a par.
Q. Was that double-bogey how this golf course can be?
EWEN FERGUSON: It doesn't take anything for a double. I think that's what makes the course almost not enjoyable in a tournament vibe but at the same time really enjoyable if you're playing well because it doesn't take anything and all of a sudden, you just get on the wrong side of the hole. It's links golf, where you just hit a shot in the bunker, and instead of just of splashing out and putting for par, you're struggling.
It was a tough grind. I'm quite good at links usually, so worked out quite well.
Q. It's tough, but how good is it?
EWEN FERGUSON: It's an unbelievable course. We've been saying that since we've been in the practise round. We're lucky to be playing here. Trying to enjoy it as much as but at the same time when you hit a bad shot, you could be anywhere and be struggling a little bit.
Amazing. The course is unbelievable. I've heard so much about it for the last, well, since I've been a golfer, and to be here this week is cool with the views and the condition of the course.
