Q. You're on to the final of the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur. How are you feeling right now?
LINDSAY GAHM: Kind of in disbelief, honestly. But no, I'm so excited. It has been an amazing week, and the weather is so perfect. I'm just excited to be here.
Q. Talk to me about the back nine there this last match with Lauren. You win four holes in a row. What were you thinking before that, and walk me through the match?
LINDSAY GAHM: Really my game plan this whole time has been just to play the golf course and not really worry so much about if I'm up or down because you have to be really careful out here of just getting on the wrong side of the hole. I think sometimes you can try to push it too hard if you're down, and I was really just trying to play the course more than anything, and I think that just helped me stay in it when I was down for -- was I 2-down after 12? Is that right?
Q. Yeah.
LINDSAY GAHM: Yeah, that was kind of my game plan. I feel like I stuck to it the whole time.
Q. What about the birdie on 13 to win that one?
LINDSAY GAHM: Yeah, that was a good one. I left that eagle putt short, but I was lucky to get out of there with a win. She had a good birdie putt at it, too. That was kind of the big turning point just to get back to 1-down. I feel like that really was kind of a momentum swing.
Q. What about the morning match? Alexandra had been playing so well coming in and you won that pretty handily. What was working well with your game in the morning?
LINDSAY GAHM: I made a lot of good solid putts, and again, I was just kind of keeping it steady throughout the whole round. But yeah, I definitely made some putts I wouldn't really expect to make and just kind of held it together, again, just trying to be steady the whole time. It's easy to make some big numbers out here, so you can get a lot of pars, usually sprinkle in some birdies, it's usually going to be a pretty good day.
Q. This most recent match were there any pars that stood out, like they felt like birdies?
LINDSAY GAHM: Well, on 6, I feel like anytime you can make a par there, it feels like a birdie. She made a great birdie there. That was awesome. We both had great shots there. 7 was another one. I've kind of got to try to get through 6 and 7, and if I make pars there I feel pretty good about it.
Q. This is your second time playing the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur. You made it to the round of 16 in 2022.
LINDSAY GAHM: This is my third. I played last year. I lost my first match last year.
Q. What other golf have you been playing? Have you played in some Kentucky events this summer?
LINDSAY GAHM: Actually, no. I just had a baby boy. He's five months old, so golf has kind of been on the back burner here for the last year. It just feels so good to be back out here and playing and playing at this beautiful place, honestly. I haven't played much, really.
Q. I notice at Valhalla, you play there a lot. How often do you get out there?
LINDSAY GAHM: I try to get out there once a weekend if I can. My husband plays a lot of golf, too, so right now I have Saturday and he has Sunday or vice versa, just so each of us can get our fix in. That's kind of the new norm for us.
Q. Is he back home with the baby boy?
LINDSAY GAHM: He actually just texted me. I think he's flying up here, so he'll be here tomorrow for me. He's going to caddie for me tomorrow.
Q. I've noticed you pushing your own bag, which I haven't seen a whole lot out here. Do you find you play better -- do you enjoy --
LINDSAY GAHM: It's such a long week, and I feel like sometimes if I have to do it all myself, I can stay more focused and really think about the shots I want to hit, and you don't really second-guess it as much. But my husband has caddied for me before, and he's a really, really good player, so I trust him completely, so it's easy to have him on the bag.
I don't know, I just kind of prefer sometimes to do everything myself.
Q. Tomorrow you'll play for a spot in next year's Women's Open at Erin Hills. What does that mean to you? Have you tried to qualify for that before?
LINDSAY GAHM: Yeah, I've tried many years growing up in high school and college and a little after, and I never was successful in doing that, so that would be incredible if I can somehow pull that off tomorrow. Yeah, I can't even think about that right now, though.
Q. 18 holes to go tomorrow; what's the plan for the rest of tonight?
LINDSAY GAHM: Oh, man, go back to the hotel and just relax and go to bed early. This is the most sleep I've gotten in a long time, so I'm trying to at least get some sleep this week.
