C. WOZNIACKI/R. Zarazua
6-3, 6-3
THE MODERATOR: Straight sets, and hour and 49 minutes. Efficient. Must be very pleased with your performance.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Yeah, I'm just happy to be through in two sets. We had some long rallies out there. It was not easy. A tricky opponent.
My back locked up in the end, so I was just happy that I was able to finish it in two sets and not having to be out there for a lot longer.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. What's your report card on yourself through this stage of the tournament from your expectations through what you've accomplished so far?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I think I played extremely well in the first match. I think there was really not much that I would have done better today.
Very different opponent. She really took the pace off the ball. Then it became hard to really finish off the point. Yeah, I felt like there were moments where I could have finished off the point easier or quicker, but I had to be out there grinding. But I'm happy that I was able to just finish it off in two sets.
Obviously my body has been a little wonky. So that's something that obviously is slightly concerning, but also something that I'm very optimistic about having the day off tomorrow and then getting that all settled before my next match.
Lots of positives to bring with me moving forward. Honestly it's all about just getting through. Good or not so good or great, doesn't really matter as long as I get through.
Q. When you started your comeback, you did it with the belief that you could go deep at the most important tournaments. So as you pile up wins, what is the sense of satisfaction and thinking to when you began the comeback?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Yeah, I think it's very satisfying. I love playing out on the big courts. I love playing in prime time and playing at these stages of the tournament.
I feel very satisfied that I'm in the third round and that I have the opportunity to play another match and go even deeper. Obviously I believe in myself and in my game.
If my body can hold up and if everything kind of goes the right direction, I believe that I can go very far. How far? We'll see.
Obviously I always believed in myself. This is one of those times that I'm playing a tournament that I feel very much at home. It's a very good surface for me. I feel optimistic about that.
Q. I just wondered after a late finish like this, what's your kind of sleeping strategy, and in general how you kind of try and manage your sleep to maximize your performance and recovery?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: It's not much of a strategy other than my husband, unfortunately, is stuck being up for another few hours because I get bored, so I have to talk to him (laughing).
It will be a late night. I'll probably fall asleep -- I don't know. What time is it now?
THE MODERATOR: About 12:30.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: So if I can fall asleep by 2:30, that would be great. The adrenaline usually keeps me awake for a little bit. Then sleep in tomorrow.
Other than that, it's great you have an off day because you can kind of chill and take it easy. I obviously have my kids, but we usually just do something easy-going on the day off.
I'm a great sleeper normally, so it's not something that concerns me. Tomorrow I'll go to bed early, and then I feel like I'm 100% recovered for the match that comes the next day.
Q. Do you know your next opponent? It's a French woman.
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Yeah, I've seen her name in the draw quite a few times. I've never played her. It's not something that right now that I'm going to concern myself with.
I'm just going to enjoy my win today and be happy that I'm in the third round. Then once tomorrow afternoon comes around, tomorrow night I'm going to start focusing on that match.
