Q. How proud are you of what the team were able to do today?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Oh, fantastic. They're a fantastic bunch of girls. It's been a pleasure being their captain. They really dug in today. One and a half to one and a half this morning, and the display this afternoon was unbelievable really.

Q. After losing the first session, you must be very pleased to be going into the final day 7-5 ahead.

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, absolutely. No lead is ever big enough I don't think in any kind of sport, but you'd rather be going in 7-5 than down 7-5. There's still a long way to go. The Americans are going to come out fighting tomorrow. We've had a great day today, enjoyed today, but we'll be ready for tomorrow.

Q. I know it's very much a team thing, but Lottie and Sara, they've gone out in every session. They've remained undefeated. What does that say about them?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, just shows they're a great partnership, obviously Lottie being World No. 1. But she came in here and she had the pressure on her; she was World No. 1. The Americans were all out there to beat her. They've just been a fantastic combination. Sara has played really well, a real bubbly character and a real fighter.

They've just got on really well, gelled well, and played some fantastic golf.

Q. Hannah Darling didn't play in the first session and has then come out and won three matches in a row. That's a fantastic effort.

CATRIONA MATTHEW: That's what you want from your team members, isn't it. At the end of the day, I kept trying to drum into them, it's the team. No one remembers the individual results at all. There's eight points up for grabs tomorrow, which is the most on any day, so we've got to be ready to go tomorrow.

Ideally you don't want too many of them going in there having to play that being their fifth match.

Q. How significant do you think it is that Lorna, Mimi and Beth were all able to put a full point on the board this afternoon?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, I think that's really good for their confidence, as well. Like match play, they've been unlucky in some of their games. The Americans have played great golf. They were 9-under when Patience and Mimi lost. It's not that they've played particularly badly. The golf from both sides to be honest, we've seen some amazing shots and amazing birdies.

But for them personally going into the singles tomorrow is great, and for Patience, it's match play, she's been a little unfortunate, perhaps came out a little nervy, but they were up against it. If you shoot -- the Americans shot 5-under in their foursome, so that's going to win just about every foursomes match.

Q. Really positive day today for GB&I. What's the message going into Sunday?

CATRIONA MATTHEW: I think the message going into Sunday is yeah, we've had a great day, but tomorrow is a big day, and the Americans are definitely going to come out fighting. It's far from over yet.
