Aine Donegan

Hannah Darling

Sunningdale, England, UK

Quick Quotes

Q. Hannah, you managed to hole a nice par putt. Describe the emotions after holing that.

HANNAH DARLING: Honestly, a bit of relief, to be honest, after hitting a pretty bad second shot into the bunker, the one place you don't want to leave it for รine to take the third. But I knew I had to make that putt, and yeah, just shows kind of the emotion of this week after holing it. Yeah, very relieved and just so pumped up to hole it.

Q. รine, how important was that victory given GB&I and USA had a half a game this morning?

AINE DONEGAN: Yeah, it was huge. I knew that if we didn't get up-and-down out of the bunker that it was going to be a complete swing. To get that up-and-down and to get the point was huge for us. Just keeps us kind of in contention.

Hopefully a strong afternoon and then all to play for tomorrow.

Q. You guys looked like you played amazingly out there. How is the form heading into this afternoon?

HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, we're both playing really well. It's always hard in foursomes just with momentum and just keeping that going, but I feel like we managed it pretty well. I'd say I hit a few poorer shots coming down the stretch, and then รine was able to make up for it with a few good shots. Just really happy to walk away with a win. That's the most important thing, just get your point on the board no matter how it's done. Just get it on the board and move on.

Q. You guys are obviously pairing very well. It was a rematch today following your match yesterday, and you've now got two victories over that U.S. Team.

AINE DONEGAN: Yeah, Megan and Anna. I'd be quite good friends with both of them, and they'd be one of our biggest rivals in college. They go to Auburn. So it was really fun.

I have complete and utter respect for both of them. They're both amazing players, and unfortunately for them we just got the better of them both days right at the end.

Two really good matches. I really enjoyed them, and I really enjoyed playing with them the last two days.

Q. Hannah, obviously conditions are slightly different today with it being a bit cooler and a bit windier. How did Sunningdale play?

HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, I don't think -- the wind is kind of starting to get up maybe a wee bit now, but like in the morning it was just a little bit colder so the ball wasn't flying quite as far, but other than that, it's played pretty similar. It's just a wee bit cloudy, but the course is playing pretty similar, I'd say.

But it's still amazing. Credit to the greenskeepers. The course is just in such good condition right now, and it's a treat to play it this week.
