Quick Quotes
Yeah, it was so cool to be here. I met so many great people and some really, really good golfers I learned a lot from.
So, yeah, this is such a cool experience and I wouldn't ask for it in any other way.
Q. What are you going to take most of these two days here?
CARYS FENNESSY: You know, got some things to work on, but that's always what you got to take away from tournaments. I think going back home, just got work on my wedges. I think that's a lot. Like just talking with the pros and seeing what they do best, that's it. Their proximity to the hole is a lot closer.
But, there is a little bit of hope. I felt like I was right there, so, yeah.
Q. After spending two days playing in a professional event at the LPGA Tour event in basically your home area, how much did this week leading up to this and how much -- how special and what will you remember most when you look back at these two days? I know you didn't qualify, but just -- or make the cut I mean. What are you going to take most from these last two days?
CARYS FENNESSY: Yeah, just that I have a big support system. There was a lot of people here cheering me on so that was great to see. Yeah, I'm so lucky that I got to qualify really close to home. The people here have been great and have made the experience ten times better. So, yeah.
Q. Did these two days meet, exceed expectations overall?
CARYS FENNESSY: Yeah, it was awesome. LPGA staff is great. Definitely one of the top events competition-wise, and right there with it hospitality. So, yeah.
Q. Talk about what you were thinking Monday morning when you drove on to the property and not knowing what was going to happen.
CARYS FENNESSY: I was like, there is no way I'm going to qualify. So this definitely changed pretty fast. Been a long week, but being here is just such an experience. I'm glad I did qualify, so, yeah.
Q. A lot of people from Dover made it down. Talk about what you were thinking playing in front of them for 36 holes over two days?
CARYS FENNESSY: I think it was more comforting than anything. I guess you could take that as -- with some pressure. It was good to see, like I said, familiar faces and people you know will cheer you on no matter what happens out there.
So, yeah, it was a little bit of a relief.
Q. I think two birdies on the day. Your first one, you chipped in a little bit off the green. If you could just talk about that birdie there, I think this was hole No. 3.
CARYS FENNESSY: Yeah, that was hole No, 4. Yeah, that was a pretty cool shot. Honestly walking up to it I had a feeling it was going to be pretty good. Yeah, it was nice to see the ball go in the hole.
Putting was rough today so sometimes you got to do what it takes to make some birdies and that was it.
Q. First day as a senior next week. When kids ask you about your final week of summer vacation, what are you going to talk about?
CARYS FENNESSY: Busy. I thought I would have the week off and I had to cancel my senior photos and reschedule them. I'm definitely ready to have a bit of a break, but this was a great end to summer.
Q. Sharing this experience with your dad, talk about that.
CARYS FENNESSY: Yeah, he's been great. No too many tournaments he gets to caddie for me in because I play a lot of the junior golf. So it's not to have some support on the bag and a voice that can help calm you down when you need it.
So, yeah.
Q. I was just listening to Sophia Schubert out there talk. She had really great things to say about you um you said you had an awesome game. Any reaction or thoughts on that. She said she enjoyed playing with you?
CARYS FENNESSY: Yeah, I was crying tears of happiness. She's such a great person and being here is so cool.
