Quick Quotes
Q. That was quite a finish on the final hole.
AINE DONEGAN: Yeah, it was pretty intense. Meg made that out of nowhere really. It was probably 25 feet, big left-right slider and she just hit the absolute perfect putt. I suppose fair play to them. They were kind of down for the last couple of -- probably a lot of the back nine, and they kept fighting and they stuck with it.
Yeah, that was nice on 18. That was a very nice feeling, and I'm just really happy to put a point on the board for us.
Q. What were your thoughts standing over the putt and then we saw the reaction when it went in?
AINE DONEGAN: Yeah, my thoughts were just trying to hit a good putt. I had to make it, so it wasn't like -- I wasn't really as much focused on speed. I was just trying to hit a good putt, trying to hit it in the middle, and if it goes in, it goes in, and if it doesn't, I still have a half.
Q. I don't think anybody was more than 1-up all the way through. Can you describe how tense it was?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, no, it was really tight. It was 1-up, all square, 1-up, and it was so tight the whole day. But I think me and รine played really well together, and neither of us were really out of position at all at any point.
AINE DONEGAN: Yeah, both of us were never both out of position, which I thought was really important.
HANNAH DARLING: We played well, and we definitely put the pressure on them when we needed to, and we definitely capitalised on situations where we had the opportunity to. It's just very nice to have played well and put a point on the board.
Q. Can you just talk about your eagle on the 2nd?
AINE DONEGAN: That was so long ago.
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, so my driver hit the path and went about 350 yards so just had a wedge into the green. If I'm going to be honest, I pulled it a little bit. It wasn't quite even there. But hit it to like four feet and holed the putt. Pretty simple from there to win the hole and go back to all square. It was an important start. Got off to the start we needed to and then capitalised from there.
Q. รine, great day for you getting the half in dramatic fashion on this green in the first match and then winning in the afternoon. Talk about how the day has gone.
AINE DONEGAN: Yeah, really pleased with the start. I'm very pleased with how I hit the ball. I suppose probably more on the back nine this afternoon. I didn't hit the ball well this morning, and I didn't really hit it that good on the front nine. Then I just really stuck with it and tried to focus on my tempo.
Obviously I'm half a point being the best day I could have possibly had for myself, but hopefully we get the back point in on the last match today and go into tomorrow with a bit of confidence.
Q. Hannah, after sitting this morning it must be pretty satisfying to come out and put a point on the board this afternoon?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, of course. I was driving around this morning watching some of the girls, and I was just dying to get out there. I felt so ready and just wanted to get out and play, and from the moment I hit that first tee shot, I knew it was going to be a good day.
We just kept the momentum on our side, and I feel like I've played pretty well all day and holed a good few putts when I needed to. Yeah, very happy overall with the performance.
