BMW CHAMPIONSHIP

August 24, 2024

Keegan Bradley

Castle Rock, Colorado, USA

Castle Pines Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Looked like you had four pars, a lot of circles and squares. Do you take additional satisfaction from having taken a lot of punches but gotten back up and kept fighting?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: For sure. It was tough out there today. It was really windy, a lot of elevated tees that were into the wind, which makes it really tough. Proud of the way I fought today. I played some brilliant golf but I hit also some terrible shots, too. I guess that's the way of the world

But I'm proud of the way I fought there in the end.

Q. The end especially has got to be a good vibe going into tomorrow, the last couple holes after kind of a rough stretch there on the back nine.

KEEGAN BRADLEY: Yeah, for sure. I told myself after those three bogeys in a row that I was either tied for the lead or maybe one back. I don't even know. I would have been happy with that to start the week this late in the tournament. Kept trying to tell myself that.

I really hit quality shots coming in after that.

Q. I'm sure you saw Ludvig got up there, led for a while, back and forth. What have you seen from him so far? He's only been out here a year, playing in a Ryder Cup before he played in a major.

KEEGAN BRADLEY: Well, I think that he's one of the best players in the world now, and he will be for the next 20 years. I think he's such an impressive player, great guy, and somebody that we're going to have to deal with for as long as he's out here.

Q. You're 38 and you won twice, as recently as last season. Now people are talking about you as the captain, which is typically for some older players. Do you feel somewhat forgotten about as a player?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: A little bit, but that's sort of been how I've gone my whole career. So I'm fine with it. To be named Ryder Cup captain and still be a full-time player is strange. I don't know anyone knows how to handle this situation. So I'm doing the best I can. The only thing I can keep doing is play my best golf and maybe play my way on to some of these teams.

Q. Have you had to learn to deal with some of the "USA" stuff because it's like a little bit off-topic?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: It's just incredible. Being the Ryder Cup captain is such an honor, and it comes with such a heavy weight of the world, the United States, the players out here.

But when you get to feel that energy from the fans, it's really special. I haven't felt that since I played in the Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup, what I felt out there today. That was really cool.

Q. How much did you feed off of the crowd? We saw some great fist pumps out of you. How much did you feed off that?

KEEGAN BRADLEY: I honestly wasn't expecting this. But I love when we come and play in markets that we don't come to, and you can just tell the fans are really excited.

For now, I feel like I need to carry the torch for the United States Ryder Cup team, and I hope I'm doing that.
