Quick Quotes
Q. I guess you didn't mind waking up early, birdieing 18 and being the first group off. What were the conditions like outside compared to the other days?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: Today was definitely less windy. I think the last two days, I think I kind of had a little bit of the bad draw with the morning/afternoon. My morning round was really windy.
So it was nice to kind of get around out here today and it wasn't as windy.
Q. How did you settle yourself down after the 77 after the first round to shoot a -1 score yesterday?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: I knew that the conditions were tough, and I was hitting good shots and stuff.
So I just need to make sure I just kept committing to the shots, and if I did that, I knew that the shots would be better.
Q. Were you scoreboard watching yesterday, looking at the cut line when you played 18?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: A little bit, yeah. I knew I had to make the birdie. I was kind of shocked that the cut wasn't moving because, I don't know, the cut was 4-over when we teed off. So I thought with the whole wave playing it would change one.
But I saw it when I was on 18 and knew I had to birdie.
Q. Your play has been rewarded. You went through final qualifying and now you're playing 54 holes at The Open. That's got to be pretty satisfying for you?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: Yeah, definitely. Whenever you're playing majors, it's always nice to make the cut and kind of play the weekend. Makes it a little more relaxed, I guess. Don't have anything to lose. Just go out there and try to have fun.
Q. Did you just try to be steady?
KRISTEN GILLMAN: Yeah, I feel like my scorecard today was really steady, 17 pars and one birdie. I feel like out here, you'll probably take that any day.
