CATRIONA MATTHEW: I thought my one wave was enough.
Yeah, it was great walking up the last. Obviously had decided this was my last one, and to finish with a birdie, I couldn't have scripted it any better.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: It did look a bit, yes. Slightly embarrassed about that, but anyway...
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: No, I don't, actually. I haven't played much in the last few years, so really no surprise. I'm just actually quite surprised how well I played. But I did make a lot of good saves, as well.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, I think so. Yeah, probably did get the toughest. I would say it was nearly as bad as yesterday at some point out there today.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, saw a few out there, weathering the weather.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: No, no. I think I'm just quite pleased that I actually came out and played respectably today, the last couple of days, and I don't want to have to try and do that again next year. So the right time.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: He birdied it.
I thought I'd missed it. It was just kind of sneaking right, but it wasn't easy for me to hit it hard enough.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: No, I don't think so. They're probably a bit more realistic than me.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: You know, coming down the back nine, because the back nine does play a little bit easier with this wind, and just didn't hit some -- I had myself in position, just hit some poor iron shots. Didn't give myself any birdie chances really until the last.
Q. When you look back on your career, what was the most satisfying?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: I think obviously the Solheim Cups, they've been a huge part of my career, obviously the two captaincies, and winning at Lytham. They'd be the highlights of my career, I would say.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, next week the Curtis Cup, so really looking forward to that. I really enjoyed when I played in it. I've got a really good team this year. They're all up for it and looking forward to it. We're quietly confident.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Oh, is she? Good. I think she'll be really important, just for the whole morale and confidence of the team, to have the No. 1 amateur in the world in your team. They've all played with her. They know they can beat her but they know she's good. I think having that will just give them a bit more confidence as a team.
Q. What do you like the most about her game?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: It's just her all-around game. There's no real weakness. The main thing is she's mentally tough. I go back to that finish she had at ANWA where it looked like Shoemaker had kind of stolen it from her, and then she birdied three of the last four. That kind of shows someone who can dig deep and do it when they have to.
Q. (No microphone.)
CATRIONA MATTHEW: Yeah, I would say so, yeah, definitely. I think she's going to stay at college, though. There's no huge rush, I don't think. We all know golf you can have a long career. I think she's enjoying college.
Q. What club did you hit into the last?
CATRIONA MATTHEW: 48-degree wedge. Just a little one.
