DOLEHIDE-KRAWCZYK/Dabrowski-Routliffe
7-6, 3-6, 10-7
THE MODERATOR: Who would like to ask our first question?
Q. What do you think made the difference in the late stages of obviously such a close match?
CAROLINE DOLEHIDE: I think the energy picked up, for sure. They played some pretty hot tennis in the second, and we kind of maybe dipped a little bit there, just seeing the confidence from the other side, and how much they were kind of coming in and putting pressure on us.
I think in the third set tiebreaker we just upped our energy, upped our confidence, trusted our shots, and we went out there together and we got the win.
Q. What was it like to play in the atmosphere tonight?
CAROLINE DOLEHIDE: So fun.
DESIRAE KRAWCZYK: Yeah, it was really fun. Obviously they were against us, which, but I think for women's doubles that's just great to have such a big turnout after that singles finals, and we really appreciate it, but it was a great atmosphere, that's all you can ask for.
CAROLINE DOLEHIDE: Yeah, with or against us, you know, people showing up for a 9:00 p.m. doubles match, that's a big thing.
DESIRAE KRAWCZYK: On a work night.
CAROLINE DOLEHIDE: Yeah, on a Monday night. Yeah, we'll take what we can get at this level, at the highest level, at this 1000 Masters, it was an amazing atmosphere, with or against us.
Q. Wondering if you had a chance to use our Relaxation Zone, I heard it's one of the best on tour.
DESIRAE KRAWCZYK: The downstairs one? Oh, I did. I'm a big napper, love that room.
CAROLINE DOLEHIDE: She's a napper.
DESIRAE KRAWCZYK: It was very nice. It was very pleasant. Yeah, it was like my room. I loved it.
CAROLINE DOLEHIDE: I let her do her thing, you know, I'll take the nap for the team. So, no, it's a great room, and it's nice just to have that, and also the posters that they put up, it's just been great to have a little bit of reminder, because you just go every day, you don't really think about those little things of taking time for yourself to have a breather and just kind of relax, like it says, and just take it in for yourself, before and after matches, very positive affirmations.
Q. This is your first title together as a team as well, you made the final in Doha earlier this year, so what do you think it is about the two of you together that works really well as a team, and how have you guys evolved as a team in the time that you played together?
DESIRAE KRAWCZYK: It's like a relationship, honestly. It's like anyone.
CAROLINE DOLEHIDE: Yeah, personalities. I don't know, we have so much fun together on and off the court.
DESIRAE KRAWCZYK: I think also we had to learn to adapt to each other and see what our strengths were, see what works for us as a team, and then also that comes with winning more matches you're gaining more confidence in each other and trusting each other and believing in each other. I think if you're comfortable and you have good chemistry off the court it's going to translate into the matches, and it's definitely showed, we've had a good year, and we want to keep going. Yeah, it's our first Masters and I'm so excited to do it with Caroline.
