Quick Quotes
Q. You've won your last nine USGA matches. What has gone on this summer that's working so well for you?
RIANNE MALIXI: I don't know. I'm just trying to make things simple for me and not making things complicated, and I think I've done a good job with that. Carmen and I were like focusing on targets all the time. I was focusing on that, and then I was able to hit all the targets in this match.
Q. How did it happen that she came and caddied for you again this week?
RIANNE MALIXI: Okay, so we kept in touch after the U.S. Girls, and she happened to work here last year, and she got some local knowledge. I was like, it's not a bad idea that she comes in and caddies for me again, and we've got good chemistry.
Q. You guys are undefeated together, right?
RIANNE MALIXI: Yeah.
Q. It's a really long week. How do you compartmentalize and keep things one shot at a time?
RIANNE MALIXI: Honestly it's just that mindset that really keeps me going, just really making things simple, staying hydrated and trying not to waste so much energy on reacting to certain shots. Yeah, just keeping it simple.
Q. What did the win at the Girls' Junior mean for you and your confidence?
RIANNE MALIXI: It means a lot. It's definitely a confidence booster. I won't be thinking about it this week. It won't be that helpful. But keeping a simple mindset will be a key for this.
Q. Scarlett played really well. Talk about the match a little bit.
RIANNE MALIXI: Yeah, Scarlett played well, pretty consistent. I just happened to make putts that mattered the most, and she just happened to make a couple of mistakes in the latter part of the match. I know it's just frustrating for Scarlett to lose that way, but she's a really good player.
