Q. Talk about that match a little bit.

KELLY XU: I mean, it's always a grind. We're pretty lucky today that it was cooler and we made it through the 36. But Farah is such a great competitor. She's such a solid player, so it was tough. We were going back and forth. I feel like out here, even though you do get up quickly, it doesn't mean anything because pars are winning holes. It's just about who -- you can just be out of position for one shot, and that can change the whole match around. She kept me on my toes the whole match.

Q. What have you learned about the course this week and what in your game is suited for it?

KELLY XU: I think strategy is huge and thinking through every single shot because the rough here is crazy. You can be one foot out, you can hit a great shot and still be out of position. So being really careful and thinking through every single thing and tailoring it to each shot versus just trying to play the best golf.

Q. Who's caddying for you this week?

KELLY XU: I have a local.

Q. How has that been going?

KELLY XU: He just turned 14. It was his birthday during the practice round. It was crazy. His name is Porter. He's been great. He's been keeping me company.

Q. What is it about match play that suits your game?

KELLY XU: I mean, match play still scares me. Match play is such a totally different game. I think taking it shot by shot, and especially on a course like this where you do need to think through everything, that helps keep me grounded and calm.
