Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Alexa Pano after her second round of the Portland Classic. An amazing round today, your career-best I believe. Just talk about how it felt to shoot this number today.
ALEXA PANO: Yeah, I mean, it feels nice going low. This is a really nice course and I feel pretty comfortable on it. So even when I was struggling I was confident that I could get it together and make some birdies.
So, yeah, it's always fun to go bogey-free through the first couple days. That's been really nice.
Q. What is it about this course that makes you feel so comfortable out there?
ALEXA PANO: Yeah, I think there is definitely a good bit of birdie opportunities. Like the par-5s are really gettable, but you also have to be very accurate off the tee so it still requires a lot of focus.
But it's always just in really good condition and the greens are rolling really nicely, so that's always nice.
Q. And what was your kind of mentality today? Were you trying to move up the leaderboard best as possible? Were you aware where of you were? Were you just playing your game?
ALEXA PANO: I was mainly just thinking about my game, but Emma Talley, I saw her before the round and she told me she was at 12-under and that I should go out there and catch her. I did on 17, so I'm a little excited about that.
But, yeah, this course, I know it's going to be low scoring, so I'm always just trying to birdie every hole I can.
Q. And what have you enjoyed most about Portland being here over the past two days? Any coffee shops? Trees people comment on.
ALEXA PANO: Probably I got to go to the Nike store with my dad and we stocked up. Stocked up so much we're shipping stuff home, but that's a good thing.
And, yeah, I don't know. It's just been a good, pretty relaxed week. Got to see some of my friends who I haven't seen in a while coming out and playing this week.
Just had very good energy this week.
Q. And you've been in a similar position like this. Any thoughts headed into the weekend, especially with how you're playing?
ALEXA PANO: Yeah, just kind of sticking to the game plan, trying to make some putts, score as low as possible, and see how it goes.
