Quick Quotes
Q. That was a spectacular round. Give me your thought, please?
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, it's been a great round. Hit the ball well. Putted grade. Gave myself a lot of chances for birdie and eagle which really helped. Yeah, very, very happy with the round for sure.
Q. What was the key today?
STEPHAN JAEGER: I think I gave myself a lot of chances. I can't think of how many greens I actually hit but it must have been quite a few because I felt like I never really chipped. So I had a chance to make birdie on every hole, even if it's a longer putt, they are slopey but not too crazy. So you can have a lot of opportunities to make birdies but I capitalised on a few of them for sure.
Q. Can you talk about the eagle on 3?
STEPHAN JAEGER: I was in between a 4-iron and a little fairway wood and we decided for a longer club and came in nice and high and had about maybe 25 feet for eagle and rolled it in on the left side. It was really nice after obviously the birdie on 2, it kick started my round and made things a lot easier on the back nine for sure.
Q. How was it to feed off of that guy as well?
STEPHAN JAEGER: I spoke about that just now. You know, sometimes when you're playing well and somebody else is playing well, it's nice to feed off each other. He makes a longer putt and you feel like the hole is getting bigger instead of the other way around. If everybody misses putts, maybe we have the lid on today. It's been a nice round. He obviously played really well as well.
So it's great to kind of put yourself into contention going into the weekend and have a chance to get a medal and that's what we're here for.
Q. About putting yourself into contention, what do you expect for the weekend?
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, I don't expect much. My expectations are to kind of do the same thing and you know, expectations in golf are tough sometimes. So I'm going to do my best and see what happens for the weekend.
