Q. Just first question, how do you feel your round went and are you happy with the sunny conditions after all the weather we've been through?

MATTHIAS SCHMID: Conditions were great. I don't think the course is going to play much easier than it is today. I played pretty good, I must say. I hit most fairways, hit many greens, got a lot of looks. Just a couple bad swings towards the end which was really costly but that's golf.

The round is 18 holes but the tournament is still long. I'm playing well. We'll see.

Q. How did you feel playing with Victor Perez? You weren't distracted by the big French crowds?

MATTHIAS SCHMID: I think it was great. The people were lovely and I got some cheers, too, which was nice.

Q. I saw you play with a long putter. I'm not sure if you're the only one in the field playing that. Is that a recent thing for you? Is that an advantage?

MATTHIAS SCHMID: I don't know. I putt well with it. It's been going on for a year for me. I've had plenty of practise with it.
