Quick Quotes
Q. What sort of things have you been doing in Paris since you got here, opening ceremony?
NICOLAI HØJGAARD: Yeah, we got in Friday morning early and went to the Village. Pretty cool to be around all the athletes and just went for a walk around. Kind of talked to a few different athletes which was pretty cool and went to the Opening Ceremony, which was some experience.
It was pretty cool to be on the river and watch the whole show. Then the rain came. But we had a great time. I don't think you'll ever do something like that again. That's why we did it, and it was definitely worth it.
We had a great time and seen a few different sports. Yeah, it's been good.
Q. Was there one thing in the Opening Ceremony that really stood out to you?
NICOLAI HØJGAARD: I think just how the show almost just followed around through the whole city and got really close to the Eiffel Tower. It was pretty cool. Being on the boat with a lot of Danish athletes, different sports, chitchatting and share the experience was pretty cool.
Q. And finally, if you were to win a medal this week, what do you think the first thing you would do when you get to Denmark, what would that reception be like and what do you think you would do to celebrate?
NICOLAI HØJGAARD: I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it because putting on the national shirt is a really special feeling. I've had it in my amateur days representing Denmark and Euros and World Cup and all that, and it was some of my best experience in golf.
To have that feeling now and that dream of getting a medal and getting back home, I can't even think of how the reception will be in Denmark. Hopefully that will be something that transforms golf a little bit. That could be a game change in golf and Denmark.
Yeah, I mean, the thought of the national song coming on when you're standing there would be pretty cool.
Q. How are you feeling about your game? How do you assess your chances?
NICOLAI HØJGAARD: I feel like my game is pretty good. I feel like I'm getting better. I feel like, yeah, I feel like it's getting better. I always want to hit the ball better and straight and blah, blah, blah. But you know, from where I've been many this season, I feel like we actually are on track a little bit.
Now it's about not putting the expectations too high and all that. It's about going out and one shot at a time, the cliché of hitting one shot at a time and slowly build up. I feel like the game is getting better. Short afternoon practise tomorrow and we'll be ready.
