Q. When did you get to Paris and what have you been doing since you got last year?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Got here this morning, Tuesday morning. I was just home in Norway. Just went on a few mountain trips and just hung out and took some time away from golf, and it was just to see my friends and stuff. It was great.

Q. If you were to medal here, what would be the first thing that you would do back in Norway?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Well, I'm planning on going from here to the States. So the medal would probably have to wait for a little bit until I go back home, sometime in the fall.

Yeah, it would be cool to wear it proudly and walk down the street everywhere I go in a super obnoxious way but it would be great.

Q. Just the golf course. What sort of strategy do you require here? Is there anything specific that you need to perform well on Le Golf National?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: I haven't even the golf course. I haven't been here before. I actually didn't watch too much of the Ryder Cup when it was here. I know at least when they played it was set up very narrow, thick rough and I know every year The French Open it tends to play that way.

But it's a little bit later in the year. So it might be a little softer than it is now. I think just hitting a bunch of fairways is a prerequisite because a know a lot of the greens, they have water around them. If you're coming in from the rough, it's very challenging to get it close to the pin.

I think hitting fairways is paramount, and obviously got to do the rest well. But if you're not hitting the fairways, I think that's going to be really, really tough.

Q. Are you staying in the Village this week?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah.

Q. Are you interacting with a lot of the other athletes? Are you going to get to see some other events?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, I haven't gotten to do much at all but we are staying with a Norwegian tennis player. He's a big golf fan as well. So I'm sure we'll talk about a lot of sports in there.

We are trying to go and see other sports as well but see how it kind of needs to fit with the schedule. But we're definitely trying to soak it all in.
