Alison Lee

Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Earl Grey Golf Club

Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here after the final round of the CPKC Women's Open. Just talk about the round you had today. Moved up the leaderboard quite a bit and slid into the top 10 looks like.

ALISON LEE: Yeah, I mean, I feel like my game is in a really good spot. Through the course of the week I just had a couple bad holes; had a lot of lip-outs.

I feel like I played okay. I definitely felt like I played better than my scores the last three days, so today felt great. I mean, I was hitting the ball really well. Made a few more putts. Made a lot of birdies. Climbed up the leaderboard.

Didn't look great starting with a bogey today. Definitely got me a bit fired up. Maybe that's why I was playing a bit more aggressively for the rest of the round.

But, yeah, I'm really, really happy with how I played today, and hopefully I can stay in the top 10.

And I feel like my game is in a good spot going into Scottish and British. I know it's really windy over there, so we experience a lot of winds the first two days, so good preparation for those two weeks.

Yeah, I mean, I feel like over the course of my career, like I haven't played amazing in majors. I feel like my game suits well for majors but I just haven't been able to put myself in contention continuously at majors.

Hopefully that's the biggest goal for me moving forward, is hopefully my game is in a good spot going into the British.

Q. Absolutely, yeah. And talk a little bit about the last nine holes, too, just to give some insight, especially as we watch the last few groups finish here.

ALISON LEE: Yeah, some of those tee shots are really tough. You know, in certain areas the fairway does narrow up a little bit, and especially a hole like 15 for example. I mean, if you hit it in the fairway you can get on in two, and today was the first day I was able to hit the fairway; I was able to hit hybrid onto the green.

So little things like that. Making sure I'm putting myself in a good spot. You hit in the rough here this week you get really unlucky with a really thick lie, it's playing tough, and I feel like I had that a few times, just trickling into the rough and not being able to get it close to the hole and give myself birdie.

I feel like especially yesterday and today I had a lot more birdie chances. Obviously it played a lot easier with not as much wind, so, yeah, just tried to take advantage of it and play aggressively.

Yeah, got nothing to lose. Coming into today I was kind of right in the middle of the Top 70 or whatever it was. So I mean, at this point in my career, like I don't care if I get 60th place if I make the cut.

I just want to do the best I can to make as many birdies as I can.

Q. Looks like another top 10 finish, too.

ALISON LEE: I hope so.

Q. I think it's your fourth this year so far. Just talk about the great golf you've been playing throughout the year.

ALISON LEE: Yeah, I feel like I've been close. I finished off the year last year great. I had really high hopes to potentially make Olympics this year.

I think kind of in the middle of the year I got ahead of myself and put too much pressure on myself to make the team. Now I feel -- I didn't make the team, but I feel like a little bit of weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Going to just try and play my best and enjoy it and not give myself a friggin' anxiety attack over every putt.
