TV Quick Quotes

Q. Jon, your very first LIV Golf win. I sense some emotions coming from you. It's been so close this entire season for you. You had to withdraw from the U.S. Open due to a foot injury. How much does this win mean to you and how redeeming is it for you?

JON RAHM: Well, first of all, I've got to give Tyrrell a lot of credit, too. He's a fantastic player, and you never want to see it end like that. I almost wish we would have got it done in the playoff.

But it's just emotional. It hasn't been the easiest year for our family. Kelley and I have gone through quite a bit, and she has gone through even more, being on bedrest among many other things.

To get this one done -- she did tell me, our son Kepa said to bring a trophy home in this stretch of golf, and I started to believe it was going to happen at one point today. Maybe not in the last 20 minutes. But at least I can look at them and say I'm bringing one home for them.

Finally got one done. You never want to get those feelings to go on for too long, and to get over the hump feels great incredible. It's been a fantastic week and a fantastic year, and just relieved that it happened.

Q. Speaking of the last 20 minutes, let's talk about hole 17 and what happened there on the green. How difficult was it for you to re-gather yourself and tee it up on the 18th?

JON RAHM: You know, if there's ever a tee shot I want to have a little extra anger, it might be that one because I knew all I needed to do was keep it on line and I was going to get it to the top and have a wedge in.

It wasn't easy. If you go to where I was, it was a bit of a funnel. The grain is right to left, but it felt like it had to go right, so I tried to play it left center and might have pushed it a little bit, but it still broke to the right, which I never expected with the grain being left.

Wasn't essentially a bad putt. I feel like I've hit worse putts throughout the tournament that have gone in. It's unfortunate, but like I said, I got to that 18th hole just wanting to at least hit it hard off the tee.

Q. Olympics next week; I know you've said it's a dream for you to go play in Paris. How much would a quest for gold mean to you?

JON RAHM: A lot. I think that walk down 18 or down the back nine would have been a little bit harder had I not gotten a win, but getting over the hump and getting it done I think is going to give me a little extra confidence if I put myself in a good position on Sunday.

I'm really looking forward to sharing the week with David. It's going to be fantastic, and hopefully one of us can leave with the gold.

Q. Legion XIII, your fourth win this season, in your inaugural year. What does that say about your team?

JON RAHM: Second time we sweep. It's kind of nice. It's kind of nice. Again, I said early on, I tried to set the tone to the team and just make it clear that the goal is to win, and I'm just glad that we're getting it done. We've just got to be in good position going into that tournament in Dallas and hopefully get it done there.
