Q. Just how tough was it?
DEAN BURMESTER: When you're hitting a driver, I averaged 185, 186 ball speed, and I'm hitting a driver 240 yards out there, I'd say it's pretty tough, and it's 240 yards to get to the fairway. No, it's no joke. It's going like 80 yards shorter with a driver.
Q. How about the front nine?
DEAN BURMESTER: I didn't play too great the front nine but managed to make a couple putts. I thought I hung tough until that rough stretch. A couple bad decisions, a couple of short putts missed, and Bob's your uncle, 5-over.
Q. (No microphone)?
DEAN BURMESTER: I don't know, probably lack of focus, and it's tiring. So a little tired probably. That's all I can say.
Q. How do you approach tomorrow?
DEAN BURMESTER: Who knows? We'll see what the weather brings. Hopefully the weather is okay.
Q. What would you have hit on 17 today?
DEAN BURMESTER: I hit 2-iron front edge, as good as I could hit it.
Yeah, Scottie hit 3-wood. Yeah, it's no joke. Yesterday I hit 7-iron over the green. That's golf.
Q. Did you have a sense when you teed off today that it was going to be this kind of day, or did it get even worse as you went along?
DEAN BURMESTER: It got worse as we got on. But, yeah, we kind of knew by how the front nine was playing and how far the ball was going, the back nine was going to be a beast. With the rain and water balls and everything around, anything can happen, but it is what it is.
Q. There's no hole on the back that was any relief, right? Everything was into the wind?
DEAN BURMESTER: Everything except 12. 12 was the only relief really. Everything else was into the wind.
