THE 152ND OPEN

July 19, 2024

Matthew Jordan

Troon, South Ayrshire, Scotland, UK

Mixed Zone

Q. What did you do well today?

MATTHEW JORDAN: What did I do well? I think I kind of thought my way around quite well, certainly kind of coming in. A few shots out there, it's getting firm, it's getting windy. It's just difficult. You know you're not going to play perfect golf, a bit like yesterday. I think I said that. I just managed to think my way around, a couple of bad misses, but other than that I haven't had too much stress on too many holes.

Q. Talk about the change in conditions from yesterday.

MATTHEW JORDAN: Yeah, of course. Going out, it wasn't too bad. I mean, it was still difficult. It's still into the wind, but it wasn't that hard.

However, coming back, even though you turn around and you're coming downwind, it's just getting firmer and firmer. Trying to get it close to the pin and land it on the actual spot, it's getting a lot more difficult. Anytime someone hits it in that rough, as well.

It's a great test, kind of into the wind and downwind.

Q. Obviously you want to be here for the weekend, you are here for the weekend. What's the mindset going into that round?

MATTHEW JORDAN: I think tomorrow is certainly just to give myself a chance of competing and doing as well as I can. For me tomorrow, I still want to push on forward and just give myself a chance of being in and around there.
