Q. Plus-13 today. Were you pleased with how you played?

VINCE WHALEY: It was nice to have a good round and start off on a good foot this week.

Q. You're coming off a couple of missed cuts. What did you find out there today?

VINCE WHALEY: I don't know. I actually found a little something on the provisional ball on my third hole today. That wasn't the greatest start. But, yeah, just shortened up my swing a little bit, and it helped.

THE MODERATOR: Is this a format you enjoy playing? Do you have any other experience outside this tournament with it?

VINCE WHALEY: Not outside of this tournament, but I absolutely love it. I love Tahoe in general. It's just something different. It makes you kind of free-wheel a little bit. I think it's so much fun. I love that we do it.

THE MODERATOR: Does it change the way you approach when you go out and tee it up?

VINCE WHALEY: It kind of feels like it would, but you get out there and you just play normal golf. You know that birdies are a little bit better this week than normal.

Q. You said you love coming to Tahoe. Have you gone out and done anything this week?

VINCE WHALEY: We rent a boat and go every year. We're doing that tomorrow afternoon. That's like my favorite part.
