Q. Obviously this is the furthest you ever got in a event; is that correct?

ANNA FANG: My first --

Q. Deepest you've ever gone, correct?

ANNA FANG: Yeah.

Q. You played the Women's Am two years...

ANNA FANG: Yes.

Q. Went to the round of 32; is that right?

ANNA FANG: Yes.

Q. What's been the key this week?

ANNA FANG: I don't know. I think I have like a little more confidence. Like I wasn't that high up in the seed this week, so I was like I didn't not really have anything to lose.

Q. You were like 58, right?

ANNA FANG: 59.

Q. Barely sneaked in.

ANNA FANG: Yeah, exactly. So I didn't really have anything to lose. I was just like I just wanted to --

Q. Is that easier sometime when you go into an event when you're just kind of there and nobody -- you're kind of an afterthought?

ANNA FANG: Exactly. Nobody really cares about how you do. Like you don't play that great, like oh, it's okay. But if you play well, then everyone is like...

Q. Exceed all the expectations.

ANNA FANG: Yeah, exactly.

Q. Have you done that this week?

ANNA FANG: I think so. Hopefully I can get a round or two farther, but I'm pretty -- yeah, pretty happy with myself.

Q. Obviously playing in Southern California you're used to this type of weather. What's been the key for...

ANNA FANG: Yeah, I think my clubs are just flying a little farther. I'm pretty sea level of where I practice. It's like really close to the ocean.

Q. Yeah.

ANNA FANG: I think here, like I think the sea level might be a little higher.

Q. Yeah.

ANNA FANG: And it's pretty dry out here.

Q. Yeah.

ANNA FANG: The fairways aren't that soft, so my balls are going pretty far.

Q. And you are going to be a sophomore in high school?

ANNA FANG: Yes.

Q. Where?

ANNA FANG: I go to Del Norte High School.

Q. All one word?

ANNA FANG: No, two words.

Q. So you're with your class of what, '27?

ANNA FANG: '27, yes.

Q. One of the younger ones still.

ANNA FANG: Yeah.

Q. Going into tomorrow, now you're exempt for next year.

ANNA FANG: Oh, yeah, that's true.

Q. What are your thoughts about getting -- now you're in the quarterfinal match.

ANNA FANG: That would be really cool, but I think it's going to take a lot. A lot of luck, a lot of skill to...

Q. You beat a pretty good player. She was runner-up at the Four-Ball earlier this year.

ANNA FANG: Yeah, exactly. I think I'm playing Jasmine Koo tomorrow, so that's --

Q. You realize she hasn't lost a hole yet.

ANNA FANG: I know that, yes.

Q. So you just take that just laissez-faire attitude?

ANNA FANG: Yeah, exactly.
