THE MODERATOR: We'll start with questions in English.
Q. Can you tell us a little bit about this first round match, which is always a difficult one usually?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Yeah. You know, I knew I was going to play a big server and big hitter today, so I was prepared for that. Just tried to get as many balls in play as possible, and I was very pleased with my return game today specifically.
I think I got a lot of first serve returns in play, and I think that definitely must have been frustrating for her.
Q. What is the feeling afterwards? Is it a feeling of relief that the first round is behind?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Yeah, I'm just happy to be through to the next round. You know, when you play a girl like that, you just never know what to expect. That was just a match that I needed to get through. Keep my head down, keep my focus all the way through, and that was really that.
Q. A little bit about how the grass is this year playing? Do you feel comfortable on it? We saw Sinner falling a lot, and he said it was a bit greasy, but what is your opinion about it?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I mean, I haven't played a singles match on grass in five years, so I don't really know. I don't really remember if it feels different. You know, last week I fell a couple of times, but so far this week it's all good.
So I feel comfortable. I feel happy to be back on the grass, and I think usually the first couple of days before it's really trampled down behind the baseline will always be a little more slippery than later on in the tournament.
So, again, I think there's no better grass courts in the world than Wimbledon, and I think I'm just very fortunate to be able to play here.
Q. Seven different women have won the Wimbledon Championship in the last seven times it's been played. What does that tell you?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Well, I think it's pretty wide open. I think obviously big hitters, big servers, lefties, people that are good at being first on the ball obviously have an advantage on the grass court usually. Right now I feel like it's a pretty wide-open draw.
You can beat anyone if you play well, but you can also lose to the next opponent if you don't play your best. So it's all about just keeping your head down, keeping your focus, and I think it's really anyone's tournament.
Q. Speaking about wanting to play the Olympics, do you think they should bring back ranking points?
CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: It's a good question. I do think Olympics should have ranking points because, obviously, it's usually the best players in the world playing, and it's such a huge event and something that means a lot too. It's special to me personally as well.
I think ranking points should be awarded to the Olympics. There are tournaments that are going parallel with the Olympics that have ranking points, so there's no reason why the Olympics shouldn't have it when they have the top players in the world playing.
