THE CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 4, 2024

Caroline Wozniacki

Wimbledon, London, UK

Press Conference

C. WOZNIACKI/L. Fernandez

6-3, 2-6, 7-5

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. Caroline, great win tonight. Is it moments like these at the slams, you know, saving match points, coming through 7-5 in the third, that kind of make or motivated you to come out of retirement?

CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: Yeah, this is obviously a great win for me and a very hard-fought win. So I'm just thrilled to be out there and competing against the best players in the world. It was, yeah, again, a good win.

Q. Can you just talk us through the process? I think you were asking for the match to be suspended. It was suspended. Then it got moved to Centre Court. Were you happy with how that unfolded, and how do you go again when you have to go back out onto another court?

CAROLINE WOZNIACKI: I wanted to play today. I wanted to finish the match, win or lose. I wanted to get it done today because it's supposed to be maybe raining tomorrow.

I just thought it was very hard to see outside. I didn't know there was a possibility to play on Court 1 or Centre, but when the opportunity was there, I mean, I thought it was great.
