THE MODERATOR: Anna, unfortunate end to that match. Give us some detail on what the issue was.

ANNA KALINSKAYA: I started to feel my wrist in the fourth game of the match. I don't know yet. I haven't seen doctor, so I can't say much about what's going on with my wrist.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. How was it affecting you? What led to your decision?

ANNA KALINSKAYA: It was affecting a lot my serve and the first ball after the serve. I was feeling a little bit numb after. So, yeah, it was affecting me quite a lot.

I thought it would go away, but it didn't. I decided to stop because I was not feeling any better.

Q. With the record that you've had this year, particularly against players in the top 10, how disappointing is it for you that your Wimbledon has to end in this manner?

ANNA KALINSKAYA: Yeah, it's very frustrating, very sad. It's probably my favorite tournament. But I'm a human and I can't fully control my body. I have to accept it and just find out what's going on right now, recover, and prevent it in the future.

Q. What experience have you had with this sort of injury before, if any?

ANNA KALINSKAYA: I never had this problem before. I had different type of injuries. So this is something new.

Q. Will you be taking the recovery from previous injuries in terms of motivating you going out of your favorite tournament?

ANNA KALINSKAYA: Yeah, I mean, I love this tournament. Looking forward already to come back next year. Hopefully next year I can finish playing without retirement. I will do my best to be stronger.

Q. What is your plan as far as getting testing and diagnosis?

ANNA KALINSKAYA: Yeah, I'm going to see the doctor, do some tests. Then depends on that. We'll see. I'm going to rest few days, for sure. I don't have the exactly plan right now, but we'll see.

Q. This tournament for you has been fantastic until this moment. It give you strength to go far after this problem.

ANNA KALINSKAYA: Yeah, I feel confident because I can see how I can play. I feel I improve. At the same time right now I'm frustrated about what happened because it's very unexpected.
