Press Conference
A. DE MINAUR/A. Fils
6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3
THE MODERATOR: How are you feeling right now?
ARTHUR FILS: A little bit tired, of course. Disappointed as well. But I think at the end it was a great match. Alex played very good tennis. I did also.
But it's tough to lose in this kind of match, but it helps me. It will help me for the rest of the season.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. How is it today having to play in such a big court, you know, No. 1 Court, especially during that third set when the crowd was super loud? How was that feeling?
ARTHUR FILS: It was super nice. We are practicing I think during all the season for this kind of event and this kind of court, so I was really happy to play on a big court like this.
I didn't win, but it was a great experience.
Q. Next week you're going back on clay again. I believe you're scheduled for Bad Homburg. Ben Shelton did share that grass does a lot to your body, probably the toughest on your body. How do you think you'll make the change to clay?
ARTHUR FILS: I think I made it pretty good last year. I played nice in Homburg. So for me it doesn't really disturb me.
Honestly, I'm feeling great when I'm coming from the grass going to the clay. My game is working well, and my legs are feeling okay as well. So I think it's all good.
Q. Just on Alex, do you think he's playing well enough to beat a Novak Djokovic or Holger Rune, whoever he plays next?
ARTHUR FILS: Yeah. Today he played unbelievable first set, actually. Second set was quite good also. But, yes, of course, he is one of the best player on this surface. Today he showed us why. The returns and movement is very good.
He can definitely play against a big, big, big guy and beat him, yes.
Q. It looked like he tweaked something on match point. Did you notice?
ARTHUR FILS: I don't know. I was focusing on myself, so I don't really know.
Q. He didn't say anything to you at the net or anything like that?
ARTHUR FILS: I mean, I didn't ask him.
