Quick Quotes
Q. Your dream just came through and the reality is here. Describe what you're feeling in this moment,
ROBERT MacINTYRE: I think I lost my voice after the scream on that hole. I thought I was short. Look, I've put a lot of work into this. I've changed a lot within the team and I've just worked hard. I wanted The Scottish Open. The crowd has been unbelievable. Look, I got a bit of luck on 16 that you need a bit of luck to win golf tournaments. I couldn't believe when I heard a spring under my foot where my spike is at and I'm like no way. It was covered, and I thought, I got lucky; it was meant to be.
Q. Nothing happening in that round until 13 holes. Three shots behind with five holes to go. Talk about the putt on the last and the reaction of the enormous crowd.
ROBERT MacINTYRE: Just gave myself a chance. That was the job, give yourself a chance. I knew it was revel pin-high because it was underneath the slope, and in my head I just kept saying to myself, this is what you do, Bob. I've done it.
Q. Describe how you're feeling going into the open, how much confidence and belief you've got from this win?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: It's incredible. I mean, next week is a new week but I tell you, I'm going to celebrate this with my family, friends, and everyone here. I'm going to celebrate this one hard. We'll pitch up to The Open when we pitch up to The Open.
Q. You were just serenaded by your National Anthem. This is the one you wanted. This is the one you got. Is it everything you hoped it would be?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: It is. I mean, the crowd support, the support of the Scottish people, from 2017, 2018, 2019 -- the support has been unbelievable. Close last year but I had my chance here at the end and I just kept saying to myself, just take a chance, take a chance. I took it. I can't believe it.
Q. You had so many remarkable moments on this back nine, the birdie on 14, the sprinkler head on 16 that sets up for eagle and the approach on 18. What shot are you most proud of? What moment will you be holding on to that helped you get this done?
ROBERT MacINTYRE: To be honest, the bogey on 10. Look, I've hit some great shots in my time but I've had good shots today but as I said previously, I knew I was looking at areas where I was really weak and I know my wedge play is maybe a bit poor. I've worked hard on that.
