Q. A round which started with a 6 ended in a 4-under round of 66. How satisfying is that?

COLLIN MORIKAWA: It was scrambling today. I felt like driver, which has been my strength all year, lost a little bit today. Just a little bit out of sync but it happens and I was able to make the putts, make the birdies and give myself enough chances.

Q. Heading into this event, eight consecutive Top-20s, four of which were top five finishes; so clearly in great form. How close to your best, do you think?

COLLIN MORIKAWA: Close. But I think what I'm getting out of it is I'm getting a lot out of the round. It doesn't mean I'm squeezing everything out of it but I'm playing smart. I'm making up-and-downs and making the putts when I need to, and when you're playing good golf and solid golf, that's what you want on the days that don't feel good. I have still yet to see like four very, very solid days where I put everything together where everything feels like it's sinking up and hopefully that comes either next couple days, next week and this next little stretch of golf.

Q. How excited about the possibilities?

COLLIN MORIKAWA: It's awesome. Knowing that the game, you're not tweaking but you're making small refinements, it's very exciting. Doesn't mean I'm going to hope and wait for those days to come because you still can win tournaments without it. But knowing that I've had those rounds in the past and had those tournaments, I know it's going to happen at some point.
